Born January 30, 1930 in Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Anna (Sullivan) Fitzgerald. He married Dolores M. Riddlestine in Mauston, Wisconsin on August 21, 1954. He was employed as a Erecting Engineer by Beloit Corporation for over 40 years and was in their Quarter Century Club. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the US Navy, in the Quarter Century Club. He was a member of St Thomas the Apostle Church, Walter Graham American Legion Post #332, and the Machinist Union. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt Thank You to Earle and Gail Garrepy for all the communions brought to the house and friendship they have had over the years, also to Lana Graham for her loving and tender care given to dad.
Survivors include daughter Ann (John) Zahn of Rockton, Illinois; son Steven (Connie Weizenecker) Honolulu, Hawaii; Christine (Dean) Arndt of Beloit, Wisconsin; grandchildren Michael(Kim) Fitzgerald, Lane (Lina) Fitzgerald, Tigh Fitzgerald , Victoria Arndt; great grandchildren Lilium, Lincoln, Mercedes, Maddi, and Dayton. Sister Lucy Barnes, sister-in-laws Patti Fitzgerald, Betty Riddlestine and Ruthie Clark, brother-in-law Henry Gonzales, and numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved cat Tom. Preceded in death by his parents, wife, several brothers and sisters.
Funeral ceremonies to be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday February 4, 2017, at St Thomas of the Apostle Church, 822 Grand Ave Beloit, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 until time of funeral ceremony. Burial will be in Rockton Township Cemetery. Arrangements by McCorkle Funeral Home–Rockton Chapel. Memorials to be established.
