"Death of an Ex-Editor. - Zachariah Lewis, Esq. died at Brooklyn Heights, Long Island, on the 14th ult., in the 68th year of his age. - He was the son of the late venerable Dr. Isaac Lewis, of Greenwich, Conn. who died a few months since at the age of 96. Mr. Lewis was, at one time, a private tutor in the family of Gen. Washington. In the year 1803, he succeeded Noah Webster as editor of the New York Commercial Advertiser, where he continued for seventeen years, and retired at the close of March 1820."]∼~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
