Virginia C. Rosinsky, age 100, a resident at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, died Saturday morning, January 28, 2017 at the center.

She was born October 10, 1916 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late John and Margaret (Gallagher) Brixius. Virginia was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, class os 1934, which happens to be the first graduating class that had graduation outdoors. On October 28, 1939 she married Chester F. Rosinsky at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on December 1, 2006. Virginia was employed with Sears in Manitowoc, retiring in 1971. Virginia loved to dance and sing, even enjoyed dancing with her walker at the home. She was an excellent baker. Her family always loved her baked breads, homemade dill pickles and Christmas cookies over the holidays.

Survivors include one daughter: Kathryn Kohls, Manitowoc; two grandsons: Michael (Jody) Behringer, Mishicot, Mark (Linda) Behringer, Racine; three great grandchildren: Ehrin, Kyra, and Brooke; two great great granddaughters: Aaliyah and Amelia; one brother and two sisters-in-law: Donald Brixius, Brillion, Grace Rosinsky, Manitowoc, Elaine Brixius, Manitowoc; special friends: the Crawford family. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

She was also preceded in death by; three sisters and two brothers-in-law; Adeline and Victor Mrozinski, Janet Brixius, Grace and Louis Jirikowic, one brother and one sister-in-law; Kenneth Brixius, Ann Brixius.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 2, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand (1415 Grand Ave.), Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
