Donna (Lovejoy) Best, 63, of Pasco, WA, passed away on January 29, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. Donna was born on May 28, 1953 at Kennewick General Hospital to John and Carol Lovejoy. Donna graduated from Kenne-wick High School (KHS) in 1971 and married Keith Best on December 28, 1974. Donna and Keith lived most of their life in Kennewick, WA and in Pasco for the past 15 years. Donna worked at Kennewick Industrial (KIE), then 21 years with Kennewick General Hospital (now Trios) as a Payroll Clerk, Personnel Records Specialist, Human Resource (HR) Information Specialist, and finished her career as the HR Coordinator. She loved sports and was very active for most of her life. She enjoyed snow and water skiing, golfing, and softball. In her younger years Donna played on a co-ed softball team with her husband, Keith. Donna gave birth to her son, Tyson in 1976, and her daughter, Nicole in 1981. Donna lived for her children and grandchildren. She encouraged Tyson in football and baseball and Nicole in gymnastics, figure skating and dance. She devoted her life to her children and everyone around her. Donna was known for her kind, loving, and giving spirit. She touched so many lives during her time here on earth. She found joy in making sure everyone around her was happy and had everything they ever wanted. Her smile would light up the room. Donna loved to sing and dance. Music was a big part of her life. She was a song leader at KHS and sang in church and for weddings. Donna and her lifelong friends formed "The Birthday Club," which included herself, Connie Kittson Parsons, Carolyn Hooper, Kathy Mitchell, Nancy Maas, Connie Gillespie, and Laura Lumper. They got together for each person's birthday; usually in a restaurant or one of their homes with a few glasses of wine and a lot of stories and laughter. For 17 years Donna enjoyed creating wonderful memories at 'Sisters' weekend getaways. Donna was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Donna was active in the community and put in numerous hours of volunteering for Kennewick Grid Kids Football/Cheerleading (Go Huskies!), Dusters Baseball Booster Club, and Tri-Cities Figure Skating Club. She helped organize the Tri-Cities Guild Annual Children's Classic golf tournament for many years benefiting the Children's Hospital & Regional Medical Center. She was the first person children came to for school and sports fundraisers magazines, cinnamon rolls, candy, cookies; she bought it all, especially the sweets! Donna's pride and joy, second to her children, were her grandchildren, Ryan, Madison, and Lindsey Best, Jackson and Gracie Hammond. She loved supporting them in school functions, plays, graduations, football, track, tee ball, softball, basketball, ice hockey, figure skating and gymnastics. She spoiled them all. Donna is survived by: Her husband, Keith Best. Her son, Tyson Best, and wife Angie and their three children, Ryan, Madison and Lindsey of Pasco, WA. Her daughter, Nicole Hammond and husband Ryan and their two children Jackson and Gracie of Kennewick, WA. Her in-laws George and Dolly Best of Kennewick, WA, Jackie Minton of Pasco, WA, Ken and Kathy Best, of Kennewick WA. Her sisters Flossie Zechmeir and husband Lewis, Debbie Fohl and husband Bob, Barbara Meek, and sister-in-law Denice Lovejoy. Her brothers John Lovejoy and Jeff Lovejoy. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Carol Lovejoy, her sister Nancy Lovejoy, and brother Eric Lovejoy, her mother-in-law Adeline Best, and Arthur Minton. A special thank you to those who helped with Donna's in home care, Denise Lovejoy, Barbara Meek, Jaimi Apple and Rob Lookabill.
