Cortlandt W. Abbott, Sr., age 96 died on January 30, 2017.

Cortlandt lived in Glassboro all his life and graduated from Glassboro High School in 1938. He served in the US Army Air Corp during World War II from 1941-1945 in the North Africa and Pacific Theatres.

Cort owned and operated J.T. Abbott & Son Hardware in Glassboro which was his family business that ran from 1899 until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the Pitman Kiwanis Club.

He was predeceased by his son William Edwin Abbott.

Survived by his wife of 67 years Etta (nee Ditchfield), son Courtland and his wife Linda, grandchildren Jennifer (Brian) Cressman, Stefanie (Hans) Gross and four great grandchildren.

Friends may greet the family on Thursday after 10am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Funeral service will be at 11am. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park. Memories may be shared at www.kelleyfhpitman.com.
