Born in New York City to Nora (nee Vail) and William Beyer, Brother Edward earned a B.S. in Education from Fordham University, Bronx, NY and a Master's Degree from Gonzaga University, Spokane, WA. He entered the Congregation on August 26, 1941 and into Perpetual Profession on September 8, 1950. He was a history and religious teacher at Bergen Catholic High School for 40 years, retiring in 2009. Brother Edward began his teaching career at St. Cecilia Grammar School in New York from 1944-1945, Sacred Heart Grammar School, New York from 1945-1948, Power Memorial Academy, New York from 1948-1950, Boys Central High School, Butte, MT from 1950-1958, Leo High School, Chicago, IL from 1958-1961, Essex Catholic High School, Newark, NJ from 1961-1969, serving as Superior from 1966-1969, Bergen Catholic High School, Oradell, from 1969-2009. Brother Edward was a member of the Christian Brothers North America founded by Bro. Edmund Rice.
