She was born April 5, 1948 in Richland County, SC to the late James Richard Smith and Norma Wright Smith Worley. She was retired from Carolina Care as a housekeeper. Her hobbies included going to the mountains and beach, fishing, going on cruises, singing in the church choir, walking, exercising, and collecting teddy bears. She was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church, Church choir member, United Methodist Women member, past sunday school teacher, and Unit 100 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary member in Cherryville.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant son, Melvin Hutto.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Larry Dean McNeely; son, Jason McNeely of Charlotte; daughter, Kim Edmondson of Kings Mountain; brother, James Richard Smith, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sisters, Elizabeth Ann Bass of Myrtle Beach, SC and Rebecca Lynn Bridges of Sumter, SC; three grandchildren, Amber Edmondson of Grover, Jacob Edmondson of Kings Mountain, and Joshua Edmondson of Mooresville; great-grandchild, Karsyn Grace Stroup of Grover.
The visitation will be Saturday at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hebron United Methodist Church.
The funeral service will be Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Hebron United Methodist Church with Rev. Cathy Turman officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hebron United Methodist Church Cemetery.
