George L. Stainbrook, age 65, of Williamsburg, Indiana, died Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at his home. George was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather.

Born June 14, 1951, in Richmond, Indiana, to Robert L. and Carolyn J. Paddock Stainbrook, George was a life-long resident of this area. He was a 1969 graduate of Centerville High School. George retired from Creative Cabinets as a custom woodworker. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. George was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, shooting, trapping, and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Marilyn S. Swartz Stainbrook, to whom he was married in 1972; sons, Bob (Cathy) Stainbrook of Hagerstown, Indiana, and Bill (Connie Laster) Stainbrook of Lynn, Indiana; grandson, Robbie Stainbrook; mother, Carolyn J. Stainbrook of Richmond; sister, Gina (Gary) Fox of Greens Fork, Indiana; brothers, Mike (Kathy) Stainbrook of Centerville, Indiana, and Thomas (Lynette) Stainbrook of Greens Fork, Indiana; many nieces and nephews; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation for George L. Stainbrook will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2017, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2017, at Mills Funeral Home with Dr. William Rheuble officiating. Burial will be in Abington Cemetery. George had expressed his desire for people attending his visitation and funeral to be dressed casually as if they were visiting him at his home.
