"Thomas Ellington is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Ellington of Tehachapi. He was called to serve his country November 1, 1917, He left Bakersfield with a group of Kern County boys for Camp Lewis, American Lake. From there he went to Camp Mills, New York. He was there but two weeks when he left for England where he remained a short time; then he was sent to France. When he was called to serve his country he was employed as a signalman on the railroad.
