ANSWERED THE CALL.
Col. Albert H. Yancey Passed Away Yesterday.
As foretold in the Globe yesterday morning, Col. Albert H. Yancey, for some years traveling passenger agent of the Burlington road, answered the dread summons at an early hour yesterday.
He has been confined to his home, 232 Carroll street, for some weeks, and the complication of maladies from which he has been suffering terminated in his death, as stated. Beside his wife, his physician, Dr. Charles W. Meade, and John W. Owens, a warm personal friend, were at his deathbed. He is survived by his wife alone, there being no children. Col. Yancy [sic] was forty-five years of age, and has been in the railroad business for a long term of years, formerly with the Wabash and Wisconsin Central, and since 1887 with the Burlington.
He held the name of being perhaps the best all-round traveling passenger man in this territory, and had hosts of friends, won by his genial, sunny disposition. Through his long residence and attractive attributes, he was considered a most valuable man by the road he was connected with. He was an Elk, and also a member of the A. O. U. W., of this city. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon from the church of the Good Shepherd, Twelfth and Cedar, at 2:30, under the auspices of the societies of which deceased was a member. Some of his late confederates in business will also attend in a body.
