MRS. ACKER IS DEAD
Passes Away Within a Few Months of Ninety
Mrs. Henry Acker, mother of Capt. W. H. Acker, after whom the Acker G. A. R. post of this city is named, died at St. Joseph's hospital yesterday morning. Mrs. Acker had been confined to the hospital since October, 1894, but was not considered to be in danger of dissolution until last Friday, when she was stricken with an attack of paralysis. She sank steadily until 9 o'clock yesterday, when she quietly passed away.
Mrs. Acker, who would have been ninety years of age had she lived until next October, had been a resident of St. Paul since 1857, when in company with her husband she removed to the Northwest from New York state. In 1874 Mrs. Acker was left a widow by the death of her husband, and up to the time of her first illness, some four years ago, she continued to reside at the old homestead, corner of Canada and Pearl streets, with her unmarried daughter, Miss Acker.
The deceased is survived by three children, George S. Acker, of Chicago, and Mrs. Edmund Rice and Miss Acker, of this city.
The funeral will take place today at 4 o'clock from the residence of Gen Sanborn, 187 East Ninth street. The services will be conducted by Rev. C. C. Andrews, rector of Christ church.
The pall bearers will be N. P. Langford, J. B. Rice and four members of Acker post, Capts. Castle, Simonton, Mahan and McCardy. The interment will be at Oakland cemetery beside the remains of the husband and son of the deceased.
