George L. Baker dies in California

George L. Baker, 73, of Vista, Calif., a native of Decatur and brother of Julius and David Baker, Mrs. Naomi Colchin, Mrs. Anna McNamara, and Mrs. Fred Foos of Decatur, died at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Tri-city hospital, Oceanside, Calif., of a heart attack. He had been hospitalized three days.

The son of John and Rose Wolpert Baker, he was born in Decatur April 27, 1896. He was married in April, 1922 to Vera Clark, who survives. About thirty-five years ago he moved to California, where he was engaged in the floral business until his retirement five years ago.

He is a member of the Vista Catholic church, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. The body was taken to the Vista Chapel Mortuary.

In addition to the brothers, sisters and wife listed above, a sister, Mrs. Frank McIntire, of South Bend, and numerous cousins and relatives survive. A brother and a sister are deceased.
