Dennie G. Pyles, 56, of Dayton, Ohio, died suddenly on Saturday, March 25, at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Dayton.

Born in Nancy on November 17, 1921, he was the son of the former Sally Garner, who survives, and the late V.K. Pyles.

He married the former Maxine Garner on July 24, 1944, and she survives.

Other survivors include four children, Dennis Pyles and Sallie Bumgardner, both of Dayton, Ohio, Barbara Butcher, Xenia, Ohio, and Shirley Newman, Kettering, Ohio; one brother, Laurence Pyles, Dayton; two sisters, Pauline Beshears, Kettering and Lorene McLin, Nancy; and five grandchildren.

Pyles worked at the Wright Patterson Air Force base in Dayton and was a member of the Linden Avenue Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 29, in the chapel of the Morris and Hislope Funeral Home at Science Hill with the Rev. Vola Brown officiating.

Burial was in the White Oak Cemetery in Nancy.

Morris and Hislope of Science Hill was in charge of arrangements.
