Milford Baumann, 86, of Benson, died peacefully at 10:13 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 5, 2017) at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke with his family by his side.

Milford was born Nov. 14, 1930, in Benson, to Theodore and Angeline "Lena" Flohr Baumann. He married Virginia Mae Haase on Aug. 5, 1951, at Benson St. Paul Lutheran Church, happily celebrating 65 years of marriage.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; sister, Geneva Thompson; brother, Everett; brothers-in-law, Lloyd Haase, DeWayne Haase, Calvin Haase and Virgil Haase.

Milford had a long, successful career in inventory control and scheduling at the East Peoria plant of Caterpillar for 43 years, retiring in 1990. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict and served in the Army for three years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 454 in Benson for more than 62 years and served on the Benson Fire Department for 26 years.

He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in rural Benson.
