Mrs. Abbie J. Clapp Suc-
cumbs at Home of Son
In Virginia.

Mrs. Abbie J. Clapp, mother of former Senator Moses E. Clapp, of Minnesota, died Sunday at the country home of her son at Lorton, Va, near Mount Vernon. She was 87 years old.

Mrs. Clapp was born in Syracuse. N. Y., and went with her husband, Harvey Spauldlng Clapp, to Indiana in the early '50's. In 1865 the family moved to Wisconsin, and in 1880 Mrs. Clapp went to Minnesota to reside with her son.

Mrs. Clapp was a pioneer resident in three States and was active in welfare work many years. She is survived by the former Senator and one other son of California.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 1:30 p. m. in Lee's Undertaking Chapel.
