Kenny Ray was born June 13, 1941 in Choteau, Mont., to Kenneth and Mabel Garrison Boggs.
He was later adopted by his mother Helen Jones Boggs, who was a fierce advocate for him.
He began school in Great Falls and graduated from Geraldine High School in 1960.
Kenny Ray attended upholstery school in Denver and studied culinary arts at the Vo-Tech in Great Falls, going on to work for several restaurants. He especially cherished summers cooking - and exploring - in Yellowstone National Park.
He also worked for Ken Boggs Chevrolet in Geraldine and Fort Benton.
Kenny Ray was a caregiver for many years, also caring for his aunt Eleanor Backa, enabling her to stay in her own home through her last years.
KR, as he was sometimes known, leaves a legacy of generosity of spirit. He never let the physical challenges he was born with stop him from being a hard worker, active part of his community and beloved part of his family.
Kenny Ray loved life and people, eagerly embracing everyone as his friend. He was adored by his nieces and nephews, whom he spoiled and cheered on with his booming voice. He had a gift for fudge making and knit many items for his family.
Kenny Ray was a 35-year member of Alcoholics Anonymous and proud that he quit smoking 25 years ago.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Helen Boggs and his birth mother Mable Price. Survivors include three sisters and two brothers. He is fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
