Bobby Gene Andrews, 73, of Hampstead, NC, died Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter. He was born on May 16, 1943, in Pender County, the son of the late Jamie Hill Andrews and Eloise Batson Hoy. Also remembered is a brother, Chester Andrews who preceded him in death. Surviving is his son, Raymond Andrews and wife Lillian; his daughter, Monica Raynor and husband James; four grandchildren, Iran Williams and wife Tina, Micheal Edmunds, Ava Andrews Oliphant and husband Patrick, and Joshua Raymond Andrews; three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Judy Andrews, Dorothy Jones and husband Charles, Carol Sue Andrews, Carolyn Freyer and husband Fritz, and Hilda Leloudis and Bob Bruce; and one brother, Douglas Best and wife Kathie. Bobby was a member of Providence Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, was active in the Baptist Men's Ministry, served as a Sunday School President, and was on the Fellowship and Finance Committee. In addition to being active in his church he was a well-regarded plumber during his career and was an avid golfer and fisherman. His other passion was his love of family, family gatherings and time spent with grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Friday, February 10, 2017 at Andrews Hampstead Chapel. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday at Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Preston Wells and Rev. Bo Osborn officiating. Burial will follow at Barlow Vista Baptist Church Cemetery.
