Delmas G. Baker, 69, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born April 7, 1934, in Cleveland County, he was a son of Ora Russ Baker Lingerfelt of Waco and the late William Thomas Baker.
He was a member of Waco Baptist Church.
Delmas was a former American Legion baseball coach in Cherryville and Shelby and was active in youth recreation programs.
A retired Navy chief petty officer, he also worked for Coca-Cola and Fasco Industries in Shelby.
He was a member of the Waco Town Council.
In addition to his father, his stepfather, Hugh Lingerfelt, preceded him in death.
Burial will be in Capernaum Cemetery, with military honors. NOTE: Shelby Star
