DEATHS
Rice—Conrad J. Rice, 67, prominent Brown county farmer, died at the St. Luke's hospital in Kansas City, Mo., at 8 o'clock Tuesday morning, May 8, 1956, of an embolism. Mr. Rice was operated on a week ago for bone surgery and apparently was making a satisfactory recovery when the blood clot developed. Mr. Rice is survived by his wife of the home, northeast of Hiawatha; daughter, Mrs. Robert J. Howard; grandchildren, Pauline and John Howard; brothers, R. J. Rice of Little Rock, Ark., and T. J. Rice of Brookville, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. E. H. Martin of Kansas City, Kans. Funeral services will be announced later.
