Passed away on February 2, 2017 at his home in Arlington, VA. Robert "Bob" was born on February 9, 1933 in Houston, TX. Preceding him in death are his first wife, Patricia; second wife, Maria; parents, Joseph and Ruby Peake; brothers, Clarence M. Peake of Oklahoma City, OK and Thurman J. Peake. Surviving are a brother Duane Peake, sister JoAnne Lotspeich, and 10 nieces and nephews all in Okla. Robert graduated from Northeast High School Oklahoma City in 1951, then began a career in the U.S. Navy with many years of service. He served in the Pentagon from 1964 to 1968. Finishing his career as Chief Petty Officer in 1976. Bob then enrolled in College with studies in Anthropology traveling to many countries with his Professor, then became a career clerk in the College office from which he also retired. Robert loved to travel, and as an avid Bluegrass fan he seldom missed one of the many Bluegrass music events around Virginia, he loved to play dominoes but especially the Texas game of "42" dominoes and so loved it when family came who knew the game. Bob was a member of Glebe Masonic Lodge #181 and the Loyal Order of Moose Arlington No. 1315, and looked forward to their many events and dinners. Bob simply loved experiencing life. He and his late wife Maria were members of Arlington Forest United Methodist Church. He loved Folks and willing to help all. Services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery Chapel on May 24th,2017 3 P.M. Arrangements under the direction of Murphy Funeral Homes, Arlington, VA. No flowers allowed in the Chapel.
