REV. HENRY C. ABRAM Rev. Henry C. Abram, 79, died Thursday, September 22, 2005 at home. Born in Amherst, Ohio on September 4, 1926, he was raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He graduated from Concordia College in Fort Wayne and from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis in 1950. He served in the pastoral ministry of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod for 50 years. He was the founding pastor of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Orlando, FL and the founding pastor of Bethel Lutheran Church in Hobe Sound, FL. Rev. Abram held various synodical posts and served as a member of the LCMS Commission on Worship and the InterLutheran Commission on Worship that produced the Lutheran Book of Worship in use in most Lutheran Churches. In 1966, he published a confirmation instruction manual, "God Answers From His Word," used by parishes of all Lutheran Synods, adapted for use in Spanish and Japanese, and translated into Braille for the Blind. He also served on the Board for Jesus House of Hope for many, many years. Survivors include his wife, Elda and seven children, Jana Hartley of Palm City, FL; Stephanie McCarty of Orlando, FL; The Rev. Mark Abram of Summerfield, FL; Katherine Perez of Oklahoma City, OK; Dr. Melinda Mollette of Duluth, GA; Elizabeth Hedrick and John Abram, both of Stuart; and 14 grandchildren. Calling hours will be 5 to 7 pm, Sunday at Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, 961 S. Kanner Hwy., Stuart. Funeral services will be 11am, Monday, September 26, 2005 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2450 E. Ocean Blvd., Stuart, FL with Pastor David Albers officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Palm City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jesus House of Hope or Lutheran World Relief. Arrangements are entrusted to Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stuart.
