Kenneth Ray Langdon was born August 20, 1928, to Orson Pratt 'OP' Langdon and Effie Ann Roe Langdon at home in Cache, OK.

Kenneth started school at a one room school. He graduated Cache High School 1946. He attended Coyne Electric & Radio School, Chicago. He was drafted in the army in 1951. He served 2 years mostly in Korea & in Japan graduated to the rank of corporal. With the GI Bill, he went to Cameron College in Lawton OK for an AA Then to Oklahoma State for a BS and MS in Plant Pathology. Finally to Gainesville FL to the University of Florida finish a PHD degree with a major in Plant Pathology and split minors in Botany and Nematology, graduating in 1963. Dr. Langdon worked with the Fla Dept. of Agriculture, Div of Plant Industry, first as a Nematologist then as a Botanist. He also served on the Publication Committee reviewing and editing technical papers by various Division staff and eventually was chairman of that committee. He worked there until his retirement in 1991.

He joined Parkview Baptist Church where he met & married Gertrude Wenzel Hooker (Langdon) She had two children by a previous marriage, Charles Richard Hooker and Judith Ann (Judy) Hooker (Calcott). On August 19, 1962, a daughter, Cheryl Lynn Langdon (Hamby) was born to them. Gertrude's mother, Louisa VonBohlen (Granny) Wenzel, lived with them until her death.

During his career Dr. Langdon was a member of the following groups: Phi Kappa Phi, Intl Assoc for Plant Taxonomy, Am Assoc for the Advancement of Science, Ok Academy of Science, FL Academy of Sciences, FL Horticultural Soc, Society of Nematologists, European Society of Nematologists, American Phytopathological Society, Cactus and Succulent Society, Orchid Society and American Institute for Biological Sciences.

Following his retirement in 1991 Kenneth and Gertrude worked with 'Campers on Mission' doing construction and other mission work for various churches and religious organizations until recently.
