Deaths
BERAN — Frank A. Beran, 92, of White Cloud, Kans., died Saturday, October 28, 1978, at the Falls City Community Hospital, where he had been admitted earlier that day. He had been a resident at the Ketter Manor in Falls City for the past few years.
He was born May 7, 1896 in Prague, Czechoslovakia, the son of Frank and Mary Zimma Beran, and came to Brown County with his mother, brother and five sisters in 1903.
He was educated to be a blacksmith in Reserve and also farmed in the Mt. Zion community for many years.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and five sisters.
He is survived by nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 31, at 10 a.m. from Meek Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Harold Wolf officiating. Interment will be at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in the Mt. Zion community, northeast of Hiawatha.
