No words can describe not ever being able to know him. Every day that goes by I miss not having a chance. He was and still is a very honorable man to me. Ann.

He is a honored man to his family. Tristian, [email protected].

I served with you in the 137th Engineers. You ran a scraper and I ran a D-7 dozer. We were good friends back then and those days over there, good and bad will never leave me. Jerry McLoughlin, [email protected].

John and I served together for 7 months in Vietnam. He was a very brave man and I miss his friendship very much. My son is named after him. Jerry Wayne Sanders, 1610 Shortridge Rd, Indianapolis, In 46219, [email protected].

We were in the same company. He was a friend to me and others in the 137th LE. James Rice, 6791 Trailside Ave, Portage, IN 46368.

IN THE SAME COMPANY. HE WAS A GOOD MAN. I JUST KNEW CHARLIE FOR A SHORT WHILE. CHARLIE WAS GOING HOME ON EMERGENCY LEAVE TO NORTH CAROLINA TO BURY HIS BROTHER THAT HAD BEEN KILLED IN A HUNTING ACCIDENT. THE NIGHT BEFORE HE LEFT, WE WERE SITTING ON HIS BUNK IN THE BUNKER LOOKING AT A PHOTO ALBUM FROM HIS HOME. I ASKED HIM WHO ONE OF THE PICTURES WAS OF, AND HE SAID IT WAS HIS COUSIN. I TOLD HIM TO HAVE HIS CUZ WRITE ME AND SHE DID. CHARLIE WAS ONLY BACK A FEW WEEKS FROM HIS EMERGENCY LEAVE WHEN HE WAS KILLED. POINT OF ALL THIS THAT I WENT TO NORTH CAROLINA AND MARRIED THAT SAME COUSIN. GOD BLESS YOU CHARLIE. CLAUDE "GOOBER" GRIFFIN, 166 MANDARIN DR, BRANDON, MS 39047, [email protected].
