Lance Corporal Earl J. D. Dillard Jr. USMC of Sheffield reportedly was killed in a helicopter crash, May 1, off the coast of Chilal, Vietnam.
He was assumed drowned whn he helicopter in which he was a passenger crashed. His body was not recovered.
Memorail services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Sheffield
Cpl Dillard was born June 7, 1945 in Leighton. His wife, the former Alice McCoy, resides in Tuscumbia.
