Loran Abbott, age 71, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at St. Vincent Medical Center North in Sherwood, Arkansas. Born in Reyno, Arkansas, on October 24, 1934, he was the son of the late Elvis and Beulah (Sammons) Abbott.

Mr. Abbott was a retired serviceman for First Electric Cooperative. He had been a resident of Heber Springs since 1970 and enjoyed being on his farm. Mr. Abbott was a member of the River of Life Church in Judsonia.

Survivors include his wife: Jeannie (Knape) Abbott of Heber Springs; one son, Sam Abbott and his wife, Telia, of Hensley; one daughter, Tracy Cooper and her husband, Justin, of Greenbrier; one stepson, Travis Howard and his wife, Christie, of Heber Springs; two brothers, James Abbott and his wife, Susan, of Quincy, Illinois, and Carroll Abbott and his wife, Carolyn, of Ft. Smith; three sisters, Ruth Bridges and her husband, Manley, of Seaville, Texas, Viola Wesson and her husband, Johnny, of Florence, Alabama, and Mary Carpenter and her husband, Doyle, of Cordova, Tennessee; and six grandchildren, Jeremy Abbott, Chapman Cooper, Skyler Douglass and his wife Carrie, D'Kotah Douglass, Danielle Howard, and Reo Howard. Mr. Abbott is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.
