After receiving his engineering degree, he went to work for the California Department of Transportation, retiring in 1985 after 35 years service. Bill was survived by his wife (of 53 years) Lola, daughter Cindy, sons Scott and Dean, brother Walter, sisters Mary and Gerry, as well as four grandchildren.
