Mrs Ballengee, wife of Postmaster D G Ballengee of Clayton, died on Friday afternoon at six o'clock, after an illness of several months, her death being due to Bright's disease and other complications.
he was taken ill about a year ago and lately her condition had been regarded as hopeless, although at times she was somewhat improved.
Mrs Ballengee was a daughter of the late Jeremiah Flint of near that place and a lady much respected by her acquaintances. Mr and Mrs Ballengee had been married over 50 years and had resided at Clayton practically all of the time.
She leaves in addition to her husband, five sons and six daughters, and a number of more distant relatives in that section.
The remains will be laid to rest in the Clayton Cemetery on Sunday.
