Mrs. Ethel Laverne Threet Brett, 88 of Attala County died Friday, January 20, 2017, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.

She was a factory worker, homemaker and member of Carson Ridge Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 22, at Jordan Funeral Home with burial in Parkway Cemetery.

Visitation was held at 10 a.m. Sunday, January 22, at Jordan Funeral Home. Rev. Jimmy Johnese and Mike Johnson officiated.

Survivors include sisters, Lavelle Boyette of Kosciusko, and Hettie Jean Threet Barnes of Braxton; four grandchildren, Waynette Jackson, Wayne Parks, Debra Ellis and Westley Black; nine great-grandchildren, Kenneth Black, Dede Black, Heather Price, Melinda Hammonds, Terry Parks, Kevin Parks, Kasey Thomas, Krista Sciple and Brice Cumberland; nine great-great grandchildren, Courtney Black, Laiden Lance, Jayden Hammonds, Zaytlen Parks, Terry Lee Parks, Eli Parks, Nate Parks, Devin Parks and Riley Parks.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Brett; daughter, Katherine Laverne Black and an infant son, Auzzie Anderson, Jr.

Pallbearers were Mike Price, Doug Taylor, Baxter Jackson, Terry Parks and Kevin Parks.
