Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 8 at 2:00 p.m. for Floyd Ewing, 87, of Lehigh. The services will be held at the Lehigh Christian Church with Rev. Samuel English in charge. Interment will be held in the Westlawn Cemetery at Lehigh.
Mr. Ewing passed away about noon Sunday, December 4 at Mercy Hospital in Fort Dodge. He had been a medical patient at the hospital for the past five days.
He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. James Conley of Duncombe, Mrs. Harold Sellke, Chicago, and Mrs. Joe Lindsay, Okoboji; one son, Floyd of Brunswick, Maine; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Mae Tucker of Fort Dodge.
Mr. Ewing was born and educated at Lehigh. As a young man he worked in the coal mines of the Lehigh and Madrid area. In 1902 he married Caroline Treat. In 1911 they established their home on a farm near Lehigh, moving into town in 1939. Until retiring in 1946, he worked for the Lehigh Brick and Tile Company. He was a member of the Christain Church of Lehigh.
