Ralph F. Belongia, age 96, a resident at St. Mary's Nursing Home, Manitowoc, died on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the home.
Ralph was born on February 22, 1920 in Manitowoc, son of the late Victor and Elizabeth (Novak) Belongia. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. On May 24, 1941 he married the former Adeline Kadow at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on September 22, 1984. Ralph was a machinist at Mirro Co. until his retirement after 46 years.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: Harlan and Fay Belongia, Whitelaw; three grandchildren: Leah (Wayne) Duchow, Valders, Patrick (Ann) Belongia, Manitowoc, Wade (Lori) Belongia, Manitowoc; five great grandchildren: Tyler (Kassi) Duchow, Trevor (Nessa) Duchow, Tanner Duchow, Zachary Belongia, Hannah Belongia; one great great granddaughter: Ellie Duchow; and one sister: Pearl Meisner, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by one son: Robert Belongia; one great great grandson: Jackson Duchow; one sister: Geraldine Augustine; two brothers: Ervin Belongia and Everett Belongia; and his companion: Marion Kovarik.
Private family services were held and Ralph will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery of Manitowoc.
Memorials may be made in Ralph's name to St. Francis of Assisi, Manitowoc.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home and All Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, are assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
