Janie Joan Denman, 63, Centralia, died Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at her home after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by her family. She had been a lifetime resident of Centralia.
Janie was born to Claude C.and Audine (Speilman) Hartman in Centralia, WA on April 15, 1947. She attended Centralia public schools, graduating from Centralia High School in 1965. She later attended Clover Park Technical College. Janie had worked at Bank Check Supply prior to raising her family. She had been a member of Mt. View Baptist Church, where she had been a pre-school and Sunday School teacher. She had also worked with special needs children.
Janie enjoyed gardening, painting her home, and barbecuing with family and friends. Her grandchildren were very important to her and considered her home Paradise. She enjoyed time around water, and the annual trips to Mexico with family and dearest friends Malcolm and Joyce Nelson.
On January 6, 1966, Janie married her high school sweetheart, R. Ray Denman in Centralia. He survives her at the family home.
Also survived by Ranee (Doug) Smith, Centralia, Ronda (Jim) Burke, Centralia, and Rachelle (Greg) St. Peter, Poulsbo, WA. Four grandchildren. Brother, Charles Hartman, Olympia, WA. Two sisters Claudine (Bill) Cage, Olympia, WA, Linda (Dale) Brandt, Rochester, WA. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
