Dellos, John Anthony
A. Dellos, age 93, passed away peacefully at his home in San Jose, CA. John was born and raised in Endicott, New York where he lived for 42 years. He graduated from Union Endicott High School where he was a member of the track team and equipment manager of the football team. After high school, John joined the workforce and married his sweetheart, Angie. Together, they raised three children. He proudly served his country in World War II as a Staff Sergeant and was stationed in France. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, John worked for the IBM corporation in Endicott, and later in Poughkeepsie, New York, for a total of 35 years. Also while in Endicott, he was a member of the US Army Reserves, and was very active in community affairs including the Republican Club, the Ideal Hospital Board of Managers, Planning Board, life member of the Optimist club, the Boys and Girls Club of Endicott, and was honored one year as the Village of Endicott "Man of the Year". John was a proud member of the American Legion Post 0082 for 54 years.

In 1978, John moved to San Jose. In California, he was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard, was a long-time member of the Marine Memorial Club in San Francisco, and volunteered at Christmas in the Park for several years with the City of San Jose Chamber of Commerce.

Throughout his full life, John touched many lives with his generosity and friendship. He had a passion for music, especially big bands and jazz, was a good dancer, and enjoyed getting together with friends. He was a perfect host to everyone who entered his home, making them feel forever welcome. Jon enjoyed family events, traveling, talking politics, finance, and anything Italian. He could be seen daily at the San Jose Athletic Club playing racquet ball, and was recognized around town for wearing his iconic hats.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Angie, his children, John M. (Gail) of Mission Viejo, CA, David (Barbara) of Chino, CA, and Diane (Steve) Randesi of San Jose, CA.
