Lisa Marie Shuta, 47, of Clarks Summit, died Monday morning at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Stanley M. and Beverly Justave Shuta, she was a graduate of Mid Valley High School and the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, and presently she was a pharmacist at Regional Hospital of Scranton.
Lisa passed away surrounded by her loving family. Lisa was an avid Yankees fan and season ticket holder. During the holiday season family and friends looked forward to her famous Christmas cookie platters and her homemade raisin bread.
Lisa really enjoyed her dogs, Rodney and Dewey, and her cats, Sabrina, Eli and Tino.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the ICU at Moses Taylor Hospital, especially Todd, Angie, Amber and Ann Marie, for their care and compassion.
Surviving are a sister; two brothers; two nephews; stepnephew; stepnieces; two aunts, Ann Marie and Mary Elaine Justave, Scranton; and a cousin.
As per her request, there will be no public calling hours. Services will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family.
