Inscription
Aged 80 years. At different periods he was a member of both branches of the legislature and a councilor. He was judge of probate for this county from 1824-1848. Richly gifted with rare qualities of mind and person, liberally educated, upright, humane, and courteous in all the relations of life he was regarded with universal and affectionate, respect. He was a member of the congregational church and died in exercise of Christian faith and hope.
