Charles V Cupp, II, 74, passed away at his home in Rancho Mirage, CA on January 14, 2017 after a valiant fight with cancer. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, and graduated from Ottawa Hills High School were he played football and basketball for the Green Arrows. Charly was ahead of his time vis à vis "cultural misappropriation" as he and his classmates initiated the transition to Ottawa Hills Green Bears. Charly went on to graduate from Denison University. He completed graduated work at University Marburg, Marburg, Germany and the Thunderbird School of Global Management, Phoenix, Arizona. Charly worked for Libby Owens Ford International Division and owned Lehman Insurance.

He moved to California where he owned several businesses and invested in real estate. Charly was fluent in several languages which he used traveling the world; he especially loved cruising the Baltic, Caribbean and the South Pacific. He was a ham radio operator since a teenager and talked to his ham buddies around the world.

He is survived by his wife Christa, a step-son and three granddaughters; two sisters and one brother and many nieces and nephews.
