William Neal Achtenberg, beloved third son of Jacob and Sheri Achtenberg, was born into the arms of God on January 26, 2017.

A family service was held on February 1, 2017 at First Lutheran Church, Mandan. William was buried at Mandan Union Cemetery with his great grandparents, William and Bernice Achtenberg.

Baby William, we never got to hold you close and rock you to sleep. We never got to watch you grow, walk, run, or become all that you could be.

Children are a special gift from God and we don't always understand why the gift is sometimes taken back, but it is not our place to ask why, it is our place to trust and have faith in our Lord to know He loves our babies even more than we do. Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not.

Those who will forever love and miss William are his parents, Jacob and Sheri (Kelly) Achtenberg, Mandan; his big brothers, Dylan and Ethan; his grandparents, Gregory and Mary Achtenberg, Mandan and Burton and Bonnie Kelly, Maddock; his great grandmother, Barbara Kelly, Circle, MT; his Godparents, Zachary Achtenberg and Harley Ritchotte; as well as numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

William was greeted in Heaven by his great grandparents, William and Bernice Achtenberg, Theodore and Margaret Jesser, Francis Kelly, and Gordon and Marlene Graham.
