Her family lived in Wellsville, Ohio where her father owned a barbershop.
She married Harry Lee Gallup 1896-1968 in 1916 in Covington, Kentucky. They had a son Donald K. 1918-2010.
The family lived in Wellsville but by 1920 Masie and Donald were living with her parents. By 1927 she was divorced from Harry.
Masie had a second marriage to Coy B. Exline 1897-1987 in 1934 in Akron, Ohio. They apparently did not have children.
She attended Kent State Normal School and began teaching in 1924. She taught at Irondale and East Conneaut before coming to Akron in 1928. There she taught third, fourth and fifth grades, was at Thomastown Elementary two years before going to David Hill Elementary, where she spent 27 years until her retirement in 1957.
Masie and Coy moved to Sun City, Arizona from Akron in 1963. She died there after a long illness.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wellsville, the National Retired Teachers Association and the Ohio State Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include her husband Coy; a son, Donald Gallup of San Bruno, Calif.; a sister Lucille Graham in California; and two grandchildren.
