MANSFIELD: Kenneth Paul “Ken” Workman passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 in OhioHealth Shelby Hospital. He was 84.

He was born January 18, 1933 in Loudonville to Ross & Geneva (St. John) Workman. After he graduated High School he attended North Central Technical College graduating as an engineer. Following graduation, he proudly served his country by joining the U.S. Air Force and serving as a weatherman plotting maps and observing weather patterns, deciding if the conditions were suitable for the flights scheduled that day.

After telling some friends he was going to marry an English lady, he took matters into his own hands and a young lady named Mary Slough caught his eye and the pair soon married in Northampton, United Kingdom and they spent 61 wonderful years together.

Ken worked as an engineer at Komatsu Dresser, where he worked until retiring. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 35, Veterans Post #16 in Bellville, Baku Grotto and Pandora Dance Club.

In his spare time, he took pleasure in building anything he could and working on his landscaping. He simply enjoyed working with his hands.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Mary K. (Slough) Workman of Mansfield; son Paul R. Workman of Columbus; grandsons Michael (Jessica) Workman of Westerville, Jonathon Workman of Michigan and James (Annie) Workman of Dublin; great-grandson Aiden Workman.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by brother Billy Workman and sister Bertha Rishel.

Although no public service will be held in Ken’s memory, his family hopes that you will hold him in your heart as you remember him in your own special way.
