Maxine Thompson age 92 of Grinnell, Iowa died on Thursday at the St Francis Manor in Grinnell. Services will be held at a later date.

Maxine Adams was the daughter of Charles Hiram and Lela Rosetta Utley Adams. She was raised in Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell High School in 1942.

During WW II she worked as a "Rosie the riveter" in a factory that manufactured aircraft for the war effort.

She was married to Cloyd Thompson on March 10, 1946. To this union was born three children, Pamela, Janeen and Timothy.

Maxine was a homemaker and mother but also was active in the family business, Oakland Acres Golf Course. The family was very active in the management of the golf course, and she assisted with the watering and care of the greens.

Mackie enjoyed bowling in the local league, viewing family photos, playing "catch phrase", socializing with family and friends and traveling.

She was an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing her recipes with her family. All family & friends who knew her, loved her very much
