Eda R. Conner 1912-2009 Eda Ruth Conner, 97, passed on to be with the Lord on October 16, 2009. She was born on July 6, 1912 in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Liberty Township, Chesterton, Indiana. She was the oldest and last remaining of her 6 younger sisters. Eda spent her youth in Northern Indiana and, after many years at U.S. Steel as the operator of one of the first Univac computers in the United States, she relocated to Southern California in 1963. Prior to her passing, she had lived in Artesia, Downey, Long Beach and Norwalk. After retirement, one of her favorite interests was as a docent at Rancho Los Alamitos Homestead in Long Beach. She loved taking groups on a tour of the Homestead and area. At the time of her passing, she resided in La Habra, CA. Eda will be missed by those whose lives she touched. Eda is survived by her loving children, daughters, Joan Verdi of Yorba Linda, CA; Lyn Thorson of Orlando, FL; and son, Richard Mineer of Sarasota, FL; son-in-law, John Verdi and daughter-in-law, Linda Mineer; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren. Services and interment will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 12 noon at Memory Garden, 455 W. Central Ave., Brea, CA. Memory Garden (714) 529-3961
