Jeffrey M. Ahlquist, 28, of Akron, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, near Spink, S.D. from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Calvin Chapel at First Presbyterian Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Bill Skinner officiating. Private graveside services will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mr. Ahlquist was born Oct. 4, 1965, in Sioux City, the son of Marvin A. and Edith M. (Schlotman) Ahlquist. He graduated from North High School. He served in the U.S. Army.

He was a self-employed carpenter. He lived in Omaha for several years. He returned to Sioux City for a brief time prior to moving to Akron, Iowa.

He enjoyed traveling and camping.

He is survived by his father, Marvin of Sioux City; maternal grandmother, Bertha Marie Schlotman of Sioux City; two sons, Aaron Jeffrey Ahlquist and Wilson Scott Ahlquist, both of Mapleton, Iowa; a brother Jason Ahlquist and Elizabeth of Sioux City; a sister and her husband, Cheryl and Chuck Bonn of Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by his mother.
