Born in Laurens, SC, he was a son of the late William Robert and Bobbie Jean Shirey Burns. Jim retired as Lieutenant from the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigator Division. He was a member of Laurens Pentecostal Holiness Church and also was a Mason and Shriner with the Rossie Walker Lodge. Mr. Burns was a good Christian man who loved the Lord and his family dearly.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, James David “Jamie” Burns, Jr. of Laurens, SC, and William Robert “Robin” Burns and wife, Beverly of Laurens, SC; brother, Tommy Burns and wife, Jackie of Mountville, SC; sister, Darlene Burns Sanders and husband, Eddie of Union, SC; three grandchildren, Coleman Davis, Bryson Davis, and Bayley Burns; three nieces; and one nephew, Nolan Burns.
