"Thomas Betts, son of Thomas and Mercy (Whitehead) Betts, was born in Newtown, Long Island, 14 Aug 1689. He married first 5 May 1713 to Susanna Stevenson, who died 25 March 1723. On 10 Oct 1727, Thomas Betts bought a farm in Chesterfield twp., Burlington Co., New Jersey, and located there. He married (second) about 1725 to Susanna Field, daughter of Nathan and Patience (Bull) Field. Between 1742 and 1746 he moved to Newtown, Bucks co., PA where he died 31 May 1747."
