Beth was born in Woodbine, Texas, on Aug. 23, 1911, to Barton and Mellie (Mitchell) Martin. She married Joseph Keith "Hap" Hargis on Oct. 4, 1932, in Roy, N.M. They resided in Las Vegas, N.M., from 1944 until 1969, when they moved to Tucumcari. In 1995, Beth moved to Alamogordo for health reasons to be near her daughter.
Survivors include her three daughters, Lahoma White and her husband Oscar, of Alamogordo, Jean Ashorn and her husband Otis, of The Woodlands, Texas, and Deanna Stanford and her husband Chuck, of Lincoln City, Ore.; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and her sister Medie Colwell, of Springville, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hap, in 1975; a grandson, Bobby White; three brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the Center Street United Methodist Church in Tucumcari with the Rev. Dr. Thomas C. Broom officiating.
Interment will follow in the Tucumcari Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Beth's grandsons and great-grandsons.

Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home.
