Louise was the daughter of Sherman Evans and Rose Anna Neer, who married circa 1887. I found four children for the couple—Willard (3 Jul 1888 – 7 Jun 1981), Jesse (11 Oct 1890 – 12 Oct 1985), Louise Bell (30 Aug 1893 – 24 Feb 1955), and Eva Mae (16 May 1896 – 14 Jul 1955).

The six of them appeared together on the 1900 Census, living in Monroe, Kosciusko Co., Indiana. Sherman Evans, aged 34, was farming for a living. Anna (aka Rose), aged 32 (29 on the record), reported that she had had four children, and that all of them were still living. There with their parents were Willard, aged 11, Jesse, aged 8, Louise (Luey on the record), aged 5, and Eva, aged 3. Also living with the couple was 85-year-old John Evans, Sherman's widowed father.

The 1910 Census placed them in Plymouth, Marshall Co., Indiana. Sherman, aged 44, was busy farming. Rose, aged 42 (32 on the record), again reported that she had had four children. All four were still living at home with their parents—Willard, aged 20, Jesse, aged 19, Louise (Lulu on the record), aged 16, and Eva, aged 13.

Two years after that census, Louise married first-husband Charles Albert Bishop on 29 Aug 1912 in Marshall County. On 28 Jun 1916, they welcomed son Charles Lewis. Sadly, the marriage did not endure, and sometime before the next census, they separated. Louise appeared on the 1920 Census, living in Plymouth, enumerated as Louisa Bishop, aged 27, noted as widowed, which was not true. There with her was son Charles, aged 4.

The 1930 Census placed Louise at 114 E. Lake Ave. in Plymouth. Aged 36, she was noted as a laundress. She was also noted as divorced on this record. Son Charles, aged 13, was also there. To help make ends meet, the family had taken in a lodger, 46-year-old Agerman Hudkson, whom I believe to be Felix Adrian Hudkins, the man who became Louise's second husband.

On 11 Jul 1933, Louise lost her mother Rose Evans.

Louise and Adrian (seemed to prefer over Felix) must have married shortly after the census taker took that record. They welcomed son Sherman Felix. On 2 Feb 1931, followed by daughter Rose Alice on 22 Aug 1935). Their blended family appeared together on the 1940 Census, living at their Lake Ave. address in Plymouth. Adrian Hudkins, aged 56, was a construction worker. Louise, aged 46, was keeping house. There with their parents and step father were Sherman, aged 9, Rose, aged 4, and Charles Bishop, aged 23, correctly identified as a step-son to Adrian, and working as a baker and helper for the Electric Maid Bakery.

On his 27 Apr 1942 WWII registration, Adrian Hudkins, aged 58, reported that he was living at 114 Lake Ave. in Plymouth, and working for A.W. Thompson. Wife Louise was noted as that person who would always know his address. He measured in at 6' ½" tall, and weighed in at 190 lbs., with brown hair and eyes.

On New Year's Day in 1945, Louise would have gotten the sad news of her father Sherman Evans' death.

Louise and Adrian spent about twenty five years together before death parted them, claiming Louise on 24 Feb 1955 at age 61. Adrian lived another four years without his helpmate and companion, passing on 21 Jun 1959 at age 75.
