MARION: Pearl R. Green, age 88, of Marion, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Marion General Hospital.

Born June 22, 1922 in Marion to the late Harry and Mary (Wren) Green. Pearl served in the Armed forces in WW II , he retired from the US Postal Service as a Rural Mail Carrier. He was a member of Prospect Street United Methodist Church and was very active in Church functions, a former member of Wesley United Methodist Church, for several years served as lay delegate to annual West Ohio Conference at Lakeside, member of National Association of Letter Carriers, member of National Active and Retired Federal Employees, and volunteered for many years at the Red Cross.

Surviving Pearl are his wife of 69 years, Virginia (Buchanan) Green of Marion; three sons, Al (Cheryl) Green of Marion, Ron (Ann) Green of North Canton, OH, Randy (Carolyn) Green of Marion; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild.

Preceding Pearl in death are two brothers, Earl and Everett Green.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Prospect Street United Methodist Church 185 S. Prospect Street with Pastor Nancy Goulet and Pastor Dan Kiger officiating. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery.
