Anna Belle Partin Dodson was married to Elijah A. Dodson, Circuit Rider Methodist Minister in Columbus, GA. Anna Belle was buried in Partin Family Cemetery but not Elijah. They were the parents of my mother, Annie Mae Dodson Kelley. She was their 4th living child and only girl. Her three brothers, Carl, Roy and Harvey Dodson, were grown when Annie Mae was born. Anna Belle died when mother was only 9 years old so she lived with her three brothers in Cedar Grove, GA. All the other graves in the Partin Cemetery were our family: Bazley Graves and Mary Francis Sneed Partin were parents of Anna Belle. Margaret Janie "Martha" Partin Dickey, Ebney Partin, George P. Partin, Henry George Partin, James J. Partin and Zana Partin were siblings of Anna Belle. I am the first child of Annie Mae Dodson Kelley and was very upset to find that a school was being built on the Partin land where the cemetery was located just outside the back door of the Partin farmhouse (now demolished). It took five days of intense research, but I found the school's name was East Clayton Elementary and the Principal was Dr. Givens, who sent my letter to Joseph Ronick, Director of Construction. He emailed the best of news: He had the Partin Family Cemetery fenced in, planted shrubbery after he hired an archaeologist to make sure all the graves were inside the fence. I wanted all those ancestors that visited this findagrave site to know this good news about the Partin Family Cemetery. - Those buried therein were also my family - Patricia Kelley Reading.
