Al was the son of Albert Bauman and Eva Oller. About May 1947 he married Mildred Spalding and they had eight children: Terry, Joseph, Sue, Pamela, Donna, Albert, Frank and James. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a 27-year employee of P. Lorillard Co. Al died of a heart attack at his workplace at the age of 52.
