Aleen E. Neff, age 88, of Port Huron Township died February 20, 2017 at Lake Huron Medical Center. She was born January 20, 1929 in Sandusky to Eldon and Minnie Rathburn. She married Clarence J. Wendell in 1945. He preceded her in death in 1971. She married Noble L. Neff in 1972. He preceded her in death in 2010. Aleen was a loving and caring mother. She always thought of others before herself.
She is survived by 6 children, Clarence J. “Butch” (Margo) Wendell of Kimball, Henry P. Wendell of Jacksonville, Florida, Norman L. (Patricia) Wendell of Smiths Creek, Carl J. Wendell of Port Huron, Valeen “Dolly” (Deano) Ruther of Indianola, Iowa, and Cynthia V. (Kevin) Babcock of Burtchville, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Denton J. Wendell.
A funeral service will take place at 12 noon Thursday at the Smith Family Funeral Home – South, 1230 7th Street with Pastor Tim Hardyman of the First Church of the Nazarene officiating.
She is survived by 6 children, Clarence J. “Butch” (Margo) Wendell of Kimball, Henry P. Wendell of Jacksonville, Florida, Norman L. (Patricia) Wendell of Smiths Creek, Carl J. Wendell of Port Huron, Valeen “Dolly” (Deano) Ruther of Indianola, Iowa, and Cynthia V. (Kevin) Babcock of Burtchville, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Denton J. Wendell.
A funeral service will take place at 12 noon Thursday at the Smith Family Funeral Home – South, 1230 7th Street with Pastor Tim Hardyman of the First Church of the Nazarene officiating.
